SCOTS Munro Bagging Day

Date.  Sun 25 Sep 22.

Munro Summit(s).  The aim is to climb Stob Coir’an Albannaich (1,044m) with the option to climb a second adjacent munro, Meall nan Eun (928m).

RV. Meet between 0800 and 0830hrs at the Kingshouse Hotel (just off to the East of the A82) which is situated 1km North of the Glencoe Mountain Ski Resort.  Coffee and breakfast available from 0730hrs for those that would like it.  At 0830hrs we will depart for the short drive (30 mins) to the walk start point in Glen Etive (Track Junction at Coileitir).

Route Description.   The route is a mix of hydro vehicle tracks, single tracks, boggy rough tracks and rocky slabs on the higher ground but all manageable with care.  If we do the full route(both summits) then the approx distance and time will be 11 miles over 6 - 7hrs at a steady pace which includes appropriate stops for coffee and lunch.  The total ascent will be approx. 1300m over the course of the day.

Dress and Equipment.  Arrive dressed and equipped for a hill walking day in the autumn in Scotland with a flask and some lunch.

Participation.  Serving (regular and reserve), veterans (SCOTS and antecedents) and any companions (humans or dogs) are all welcome.
