First-Class Success: SCOTS SNCOs earn degrees in Professional Management

Three SP have successfully completed a three-year degree in Professional Management at Staffordshire University, balancing the demands of regimental duty, deployments, and family life to achieve this significant milestone. WO2 Connor Grant (4 SCOTS), WO2 Jamie Scott (currently at E), and CSgt Alexander Pickett (Glasgow UOTC) graduated on Wednesday, 16th July 2025, marking the end of a challenging yet rewarding journey.

The course combined academic learning with practical application, making it particularly relevant to their roles within the military. Throughout this time, they explored a variety of topics, including leadership and management theories, emotional intelligence, and project management.

The degree concluded with a six-month work-based dissertation project, where each SP identified and delivered a project within their respective organisations. This practical element not only allowed them to apply their learning in real-world scenarios but also contributed directly to their units' operational effectiveness.

Despite the challenges of deployments, role changes, and personal commitments, WO2 Grant, WO2 Scott, and CSgt Pickett demonstrated exceptional dedication and resilience over the last three years. Their achievement highlights the value of continuous professional development and the opportunities available to SCOTS soldiers to expand their list skills and qualifications.

Many congratulations on their well-deserved success.
