Record-Breaking Success for LCpl Cameron Alison

LCpl Cameron Alison of 2 SCOTS Recce Platoon has achieved an extraordinary accomplishment, setting a new record on the Brecon 2-Miler and earning the prestigious title of Top Student on the Section Commanders Battle Course 25 02 (SCBC 2502). 

The Brecon 2-Miler is a gruelling test of endurance and determination, requiring soldiers to carry 17kg of kit over challenging terrain. The High Competency time is 16 minutes, with most soldiers completing it in around 15 minutes. However, LCpl Alison smashed expectations, completing the assessment in an incredible 12 minutes and 59 seconds – the fastest time ever recorded for any course. 

Not stopping there, LCpl Alison went on to be named Top Student on SCBC 2502, a course that typically sees around 90 soldiers competing for the honour. This accolade highlights his exceptional all-round soldiering ability, leadership potential, and commitment to excellence. 

His chain of command shared their pride in his achievements: “Top student and the fastest soldier in the infantry, LCpl Alison has demonstrated he is an exceptional all-round soldier. He will now lead soldiers on exercise and operations as a Cpl in the Infantry. A fantastic achievement,congratulations from everyone in the Recce Pl; the Bn; and the entire regiment.”
