The SCOTS 'Pints and Pizza' Night

The SCOTS ‘Pints and Pizza' Night
RHQ SCOTS hosted an event dedicated to honouring those who have served the Regiment. The gathering brought together veterans and serving personnel from the SCOTS for an evening filled with camaraderie, laughter, and importantly, free beer and pizza.
The event welcomed both retired and serving personnel, including two distinguished Generals from the Regiment. As the sun began to set on a cool Saturday evening in Edinburgh, the doors of the Standing Order swung open to host 16 veterans and serving members. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, adorned with patriotic decorations that paid homage to the service and sacrifice of military personnel.
As people mingled, the camaraderie was profound. Old friends reunited, while new friendships blossomed over shared experiences and the common bond of military service. Laughter erupted frequently as stories were exchanged—some light-hearted and humorous, others poignant and reflective.
The SCOTS Association provided finance to pay for a generous selection of pizzas and a few pints. “The free beer is great, but the company is even better”. With the presence of the two Generals, the event took on an added significance. They shared inspiring words of appreciation to the gathering, and enjoyed being surrounded by Regimental family, young and old, reminding everyone that their service is never forgotten, and they are valued members of the Regimental family.
Throughout the night, the sense of belonging and mutual respect among attendees only grew stronger. The event served as a poignant reminder of the timeless bonds forged through military service, transcending generations, and distances. It was a memorable evening filled with laughter, storytelling, and a profound appreciation for the dedication of all who have served the Regiment and the Nation.
