Babcock International 10km Series: Delta Company on the Move
The Babcock International 10km Series returned in 2026, spanning three weeks and three locations, Shettleston, Dumbarton, and Helensburgh, drawing over 1,500 runners from across the region. For 7 SCOTS, it was the perfect opportunity to showcase the Regiment’s commitment and connection to the local community.
Maj Harry Hood, Sgt Craig Manders, Cpl Tyler Paterson, and LCpl Andy Marshall took on the challenge, running and TABBED with 10kg day packs through the Dumbarton and Helensburgh routes, both key recruiting areas for 7 SCOTS.
The Dumbarton course was a test of endurance, navigating a mostly rural route shaped by ongoing building works, which limited spectator support. Helensburgh, however, offered a more vibrant atmosphere, with the town centre buzzing as locals turned out in force to cheer on the competitors. The team’s presence was warmly received by event organisers and fellow runners alike, who appreciated the military’s involvement.
