The Royal Regiment of Scotland Launches New Regimental Pipe Music Book
The Royal Regiment of Scotland has launched its first ever Regimental Pipe Music Book Volume 1, marking a key moment in the Regiment’s 20th anniversary year.
The publication brings together a comprehensive collection of Regimental and Battalion pipe tunes, reflecting over 300 years of rich Scottish military heritage. Each battalion maintains its own distinct duty tunes and company marches, inherited from its antecedent regiments, and the new collection ensures these unique musical traditions are preserved and carried forward.
The music of the Pipes and Drums has long been inseparable from the Regiment’s identity - providing the soundtrack to ceremonial occasions, parades, operations and community engagement across Scotland and beyond. This new volume highlights the depth and diversity of that tradition, while recognising the skill, professionalism and dedication of the pipers and drummers who uphold it today.
The release of the Regimental Pipe Music Book Volume 1 forms part of a wider programme of activity celebrating two decades of service, camaraderie and shared identity across The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
